MechworksPDM allows you to associate to a project or to any 3D CAD document, external documents somehow related to it. This feature enables you to integrate a part or a project with text notes, voice notes, Excel sheets, Word documents, bitmaps, AutoCad files or any other file that should accompany the CAD document for future reference or information sharing within a team.
Where possible, MechworksPDM displays a small preview of the document in its preview window.
No matter the file type of the document, you can open it directly from MechworksPDM clicking Open in its pop-up menu. MechworksPDM will run the application registered at operative system level and open it as if you double-clicked the file in the Windows Explorer.
