Understanding the MechworksPDM system

The main feature of MechworksPDM and of any other database is the ability to save and retrieve, possibly in a simple and efficient way the necessary information related to a given set of items.
Before you start working with it there are a few simple questions to be answered:

•What Cad document information can MechworksPDM save and retrieve from a database?

•How does MechworksPDM handle...

oCAD hierarchical relations?

opart-part "in assembly context" relationships?

oderived parts relationships?

odocument loading/saving?

•To what extent can I customize my database?

•What is a Project to MechworksPDM?

•What about non-CAD documents?

These questions are quite common and they not only deserve a simple, straightforward answer, but are also vital information in order to be able to get the most out of MechworksPDM. We believe that if you use a tool many times a day, and with MechworksPDM it must be the case, you'd better know it.
