Schema directory (.MDB, XLS, ...)
The directory pointed to in this text box must contain the data sources. In a network installation this directory must be shared across the networks (usually data sources as located on the server). Please bear in mind that pointing this directory to a server is necessary but not sufficient to share data across the network as the same kind of sharing operation must be done for the data sources. For further information, please read the topic ODBC configuration.
SQL queries directory (.SQL)
The directory pointed to in this text box must contain the sql scripts available in the Query Page, including the query that retrieves the MechworksPDM BOM for a given document. This directory should be shared in a network environment to let all the users have the same set of queries though this is not strictly necessary. This directory may be kept local only in order to let the users create and manage each their own personalized queries.
List files directory (.LST)
The directory pointed to in this text box must contain the scripting files that determine the behavior of MechworksPDM at save time and edit time as well as contextual pop-up menus for documents. To have a consistent editing behavior across the networks, this directory must be shared among users.
Project XLS output directory (.XLS)
The directory pointed to in this text box is an output directory for XL BOM files generated by MechworksPDM on request.
USERS common root directory
The directory pointed to in this text box is automatically created by MechworksPDM and does not require any maintenance. It allows MechworksPDM to handle users notifications across a network and must therefore be shared among users. For network installations you needn't copy the content of your local DBWorks\Users directory to the server: just have all the MechworksPDM across the network point at the same directory on the server.
In order to make the application working properly, the permissions on the USERS folder must be set Fullcontrol by Everyone.
A common example of a wrong setting of such rights is the persistence of file such as !!RELOAD!!.!!! and !!PRJCHNG!!.!!!
Parameter files directory (.PAR)
In this directory MechworksPDM stores the .PAR parameter files that it needs to maintain the settings for some operations such as Save/Load of plot setup files.
Load/Save .FIL files from the USERS/<user> folder
When checked, MechworksPDM loads/saves any .FIL file ( created when in FILTER mode ) to the user’s local directory
Load/Save .SQL files from the USERS/<user> folder
When checked, MechworksPDM loads/saves any temporary or user .SQL file ( like Working Sets and/or user’s queries ) to the user’s local directory
