Groups of users
When you install the WebViewer on the web server, you need to have a DBWorks Stand Alone Enterprise already installed on the same machine, pointing to a valid DBWorks database.
The DBWARM must be enabled with explicit login and each user to have access to the WebViewer client must have been defined in the DBWARM. Indeed, when you login from a WebViewer client, your credentials are checked against the users defined in the DBWARM.
WebViewer, on the server, relies on the DBWARM security mechanism to authenticate the user. General user rights are set in the DBWARM User Rights Manager.
The rights available are:
oGeneral rights, as the right to download and to view records, set in the DBWARM.
oUser-projects assignment, limitates the documents you can query, view and possibly download. Set directly in DBWorks, provided you have DBWorks Administrator rights.
oParametric files related to groups of users, define the field values you can view, both in the record viewer and in the list of query results.
