Integration with other data sources
Mechworks PDM offers the possibility to connect to other Windows data sources, mix data from all the sources, display it and create customizable output that can be shared inside the company or exposed via Internet.
Input
You can create queries that reference any other ODBC data source, retrieve selected data and display them as a table from which you can perform all common operations. ODBC data sources may be any major database in the company, but also XL sheets, text files and more...

Output
You can output your information as a custom Excel sheet that can query in turn other data sources and perform automatic calculations for total expenses, weight and more...
You can also create .html web pages on the fly with all the documents belonging to a given assembly or project that can be published on your intranet or sent by e-mail to any of your customers. The web pages can be browsed hierarchically with hyperlinks as in a database, without having to be connected to the data source.
Generally you can automatically crate eDrawings, pdf, dwg, dxf, dwf, tif, ... at each release/checkin event and link it to the document being checkedin/released.
